Moving in..

29 July.. finally after 4 mths of defects fixing (still fixing) and 2 mths of reno.. these 4 mths have been frustrating and many surprises popped up which we managed to overcome.. somehow i learn to be less fussy and accept that everything cannot be as perfect as i expected.. anyways very happy with the outcome.. simple and cosy.. i love my feature wall.. wallpaper.. mirror.. lights.. kitchen..

Everything just happened at the rite time.. so lucky to buy this apt at a very good price.. so lucky to have a responsible and patient ID.. so lucky to meet ppl who somehow helped me to get good deals ($250 voucher for tv console, 20% off for water feature etc)

9 days to go.. busy cleaning.. packing and unpacking.. yippe!!!

Painting..

finally started.. however leaking problem in one of the bedroom still not fixed.. this is 3rd or 4th time to get the developer to fix.. lucky my ID checked and informed me.. hopefully this will not happen again.. so hubby went over during lunch and found 5 uncles painting.. furniture are moved as well.. wonder how everything will turn out.. excited and anxious..

Delivery..

the day where sofa, dining table and tv console are delivered.. unable to postpone any further.. yeh we bought them near last xmas.. we tried to move them away from wall as painting has not started.. gave up as they are too heavy for me and hubby to carry.. during the process i dropped some stuff and created new "holes" inside the wardrobe and maybe the floor (unable to check now as it's covered).. not sure if there are new defects created by others.. so sian and heart pain..

Reno updates

Down lights are installed and come with remote controllers for living room and bedrooms.. 2 ice cubes for master bedroom toilet.. 4 outdoor lights.. 1 dining hanging light.. 1 staircase hanging light.. 1 staircase wall light.. 1 mini brown fan with 3 lights in bomb shelter..

Staircase hanging light was replaced as the original one is too small and has many defects.. new one is ex.. round and has many small Swarovski crystals (less than 600pcs).. we took another 2 hrs to pick this.. hope it beautifies our staircase/terrace and worth the price..

Interior Design (ID)

It has been a hectic 3 weeks.. trying to find and report defects.. looking for a reliable ID.. spending time with 3 ID to go through our requirements.. finally decided on the one-stop shop.. who provided a 3D model design for the living room.. design and match color/lighting for the whole house (2-3hrs).. accompany us to buy lights and kitchen/toilet accessories (5-6hrs).. we like his design.. simple yet classy.. so with everything settled.. reno can start when defects are all fixed.. counting down and hopefully everything turns out well.. can't wait to move in..

Moving to different office on this fri too... new desk.. new home.. going to have new boss.. and not so-new role (8mths).. project going to complete by mid may.. new and challenging project to do after that.. really hope for smooth mths ahead..

finally stepped in to my new home after so long.. it was 10+am.. windy and bright.. toilets, wardrobes and kitchen cabinets look great.. i love the kitchen design most..we took measurements of all corners and sides.. tv console, fridge and washer all fit nicely.. so happy that we do not need to change anything..

now waiting anxiously for TOP.. inspector pls hurry up..

Beijing

business trip postponed due to travel policy.. flying on sun 1+am and back on sun 6+am.. so excited.. looking forward to great food and forbidden city.. not to think of how much more work to do.. counting down..

Lack of sleep and last min surprise...

hubby is out in usa from 18-29 oct.. so i have to drive to work.. it was a crazy week where i have to sleep at 10+pm,.. wake up at 6am and reach office before 730am to get free parking.. thurs was so bad that only 3 lots left at 725am..

last nite i was told that i need to fly to beijing on mon and might extend depending on progress.. since i never been to beijing office before.. started to research and make reservations until 1+am.. so tired but yet cannot sleep until 2+am.. and worst woke up 645am.. geeeezzz.. really feeling zomb and tired now.. wat i can see is another hectic week.. trying to cheer myself up since i have a whole sat free for sightseeing.. looking forward =)

Views from new home...

we sneaked in to our new home after work.. well.. already know our unit is not huge from the floor plan.. but still surprised how "small" it is.. tiles are done for kitchen and first level balconies.. the window design is quite nice.. 3 sections.. 2 small ones by the side that can be opened.. the center one is bigger.. size of the 2 and cannot be opened.. the views are much better than we thought.. there is a little sea view if we sit on the bay window.. parallel to the bay window (no foto).. also a little city view (see below)..

Unveiled

finally the scaffolding is removed and we can see how our new home look.. it looks great with green tinted windows and beige paint.. roof still unfinished and there was someone working at the terrace.. almost had the chance to see the interior.. but count ourselves lucky as they are doing waterproofing.. so hopefully we can visit next week.. from the progress it's very likely to TOP by yr end.. so excited.. 4 months to go.. yippie..

My wish came true

Sooooooooo happy.. waited for 1 yr and my wish came true.. another thing to look forward to.. a future with challenges and opportunities.. jiayou i must do my best..

Congrats mr & mrs Ho.. arrival of princess Elisha at 10:07am on 7/7/2009.. a great date and time.. 2 months away from Iain's bday 7/9/2006..

Major milestone..

Finally after so long we found our new home.. today marks the day to remember.. so excited and looking forward to it.. counting down =)

MIA

Oh mind din realize i have MIA for 6 months and din complete my japan trip updates.. time really flies and finally it's 19 days to 2009.. 2008 is filled with sadness and happiness.. uncle passed away.. newborn nephew in icu.. blessed with great boss and teammates.. great japan trip.. usa business trips.. etc etc.. these remind me to treasure wat i have and embrace future with an open mind.. looking forward to nepal trek trip (20 dec to 11 jan) to end 2008 with different experience.. magnificence snow capped mountain range.. trek to high altitude.. no proper toilet facilities.. no bathing coz too cold in winter.. no memory foam pocketed spring mattress and pillows etc etc.. have been running 3 times a week.. hiking at bukit timah and macritchie.. stairs climbing etc.. juz to keep fit and lose weight.. hopefully i wont suffer bad altitude mountain sickness.. able to enjoy the 21-days trek with my hubby to mark the end of 2008 and embrace 2009 with new hopes and joy.. so here i wish all my frens a healthy, happy and blessed xmas and new year =)

Himeji and kinkaku..

Initially we planned to go kyoto to see kinkaku 1st.. we din manage to cover kinkaku as it's far and not on the way yesterday.. but we missed the shinkansen.. so we caught the one to himeji..

Hemeji-jo castle.. we can see it from the shinkansen.. really huge and grand.. it's abt 15-30 min walk to the castle.. we stopped by a mart and bought momo (peach) and roll for brunch.. sat in front of a field and enjoy the castle view.. and ate our brunch.. momo (945 yen) was really juicy and soft.. so yummie.. never had such momo b4.. we are set to get more momo b4 we end our trip here.. we climbed up to the top floor of the main tower.. nice view of the city.. walked around the castle and princess sen's cosmetic tower..

We rushed off quickly to catch the next shinkansen to kyoto.. bought some fishcakes and pancakes.. walked very long to reach kinkaku.. golden pavilion.. very pretty with the reflection on the pond.. i bet it's even more magnificent during autumn/winter.. the walk around is short and there is no view of the kyoto city.. ginkaku is better in terms of view.. walked to ryoan-ji temple and closed by the time we reached.. so we headed back to the train station.. on the way.. we bought more momo (880 yen), apple (498 yen) and water melon slices (398 yen)..

We had hakata ramen at ramen street (10th floor) in the JR building.. mine was nicer (1050 yen) while hubby's was oily (1000 yen).. den we went to isetan's basement to get our favorite cakes.. cream puff (210 yen) and strawberry cake (525 yen) from henri charpentier..

Extremely exhausted and muscles ache after 3 days of walking.. we had early nite to recharge for the hiroshima and miyajima trip.. a nite at a ryokan (jukeiso inn featured in japan hour)..

Kyoto

Another long walking day.. longer den yesterday..

First is the nijo-jo (castle).. just walked pass and took some pics.. den to gosho (kyoto imperial palace).. all guarded and we din make prior arrangement to visit.. so nothing much except the area is huge.. walked pass kyoto university to get to ginkaku-ji.. had soba in fish and bone soup in a small shop.. very rich soup and nice soba.. ginkaku-ji (silver pavilion) is under restoration but the surrounding and view are scenic.. headed south and walked on the path of philosophy to nanzenji.. den to heian shrine (huge torii).. sanmon.. kodaiji (huge guan yin).. passed a long street of shops to get to kiyomizu.. there is a little corner where 2 love stones are place in a line.. if u close ur eyes and walk from one to the other.. u will find love.. saw some gals trying and they actually missed.. den we went down to drink the spring water.. 1 km below ground.. supposed to be very holy water.. it actually taste sweet.. den to gion to spot "geisha".. actually maiko/geiko.. another busy street and we managed to spot 4 before we decided to head back to kyoto station for dinner.. tempura for dinner.. they will fry it and serve u direct away.. yummie but it costs us 3460 yen.. lastly we ended the day with 2 cakes (777 yen) from a shop which starts from 1897..

Osaka and nara..

A long day of walking..

Set off to umeda sky building's floating garden observatory.. to see panoramic view of osaka at 39th floor.. weather not clear enuff to see the mountains range but good enuff to see the city.. next to osaka castle.. not too bad but we din go in.. just took some pic and walked to dotombori.. had takoyaki, okonomiyaki and yakisoba for lunch.. walked around the kurumon (hei-men) market, hep and a mall..

Instead of going kobe.. we decided to go nara.. taidaiji temple.. huge buddha and i went thru a tiny hole which means i gain another 10 years of life.. not too long i hope.. nigatsu-do.. nara park.. five storied pagoda.. very nice color with the sunset.. its amazing tat wild deers are everywhere.. so are their poo.. they are not afraid of human and anxiously waiting to be fed.. we ended with a simple dinner near nara station.. soba and tempura set.. curry katsu.. and also muscles ache.. simply knocked out after a long warm bath..

Shin Osaka..

My flight from sfo to nrt was upgraded to business class.. my 1st time.. on the upper deck.. so private and quiet.. comfy and spacious.. thou i can almost lay flat but i din sleep well.. anyway service and food was great..

I reached abt 30 mins before hubby and lucky we din spend time trying to find each other.. after we changed our rail pass (sgd 371 each).. off we went to catch nrt express to shinagawa and catch shinkansen to shin osaka.. reached around 8 plus and checked in to tokyo inn.. a cheap and nice hotel (7514 yen per nite)..

Houston again...

25 may to 4 jun... my 3rd time since nov.. 2nd time 15 to 23 mar.. hectic and frustrating.. managed to come back to celebrate my 1st yr anniversary with hubby.. nothing special.. just spend time together.. 30mar to 4 apr.. KL.. quite relax and nice.. this time not as hectic as last trip.. shopped at the new premium outlet.. had great steak at perry's twice.. mignon and fillet.. went to galveston and nua by the beach.. had great seafood.. but i had to work on sat.. heng my boss gave me replacement off =).. the best part was my WW counterpart's rented car was upgraded to a convertible and he drove me around.. nice!

Very lucky for me.. my hubby managed to change his miles to nrt and i'm stopping over at nrt.. japan 5 to 11 jun..

A great weather...

to blade at ecp.. sunny and windy.. set off at 1:40pm and reached around 2:30pm.. traffic jam at pie due to accident.. traffic jam again at still road.. lucky to get parking lot.. was a bit scare as i din blade for a long long time.. the pavement is smooth and not crowded with ppl cycling and blading.. started at mac.. after a while got the hang of it and headed down towards fort road and back.. then headed towards national sailing club and back.. all in 2 hours.. still able to drive back home.. no muscle ache yet.. had dinner with mom and now muscle aching a bit..

dear dun ski too long and fast.. take it slow.. it's been a long while too since you last ski.. b careful and missing you.. have fun!

It's been a long while...

since i last jogged.. tot i will b out of breath.. but i managed to jog my usual 2 rounds without resting in 30mins.. felt great after it.. the best part is.. little muscle ache.. so not as bad as i tot..

The cat is away..

until 3 feb.. covering san diego, portland, san francisco, new york and charleston.. most flights are upgraded to business/first class.. enjoy dear and have fun.. be careful when ski.. missing you..

Haircut...

is the shortest in 10 years.. definitely a new look.. younger and refreshed.. hehe i hope..

2008

looking back.. 2007 was exciting.. wedding.. job change.. europe honeymoon, houston biz trip and china tour.. hubby's promotion.. really hope tat 2008 will be even better..

so wat have we done on the first 2 weeks of 2008.. diy a cupboard to keep hubby's gadgets.. packed the room and wardrobe.. shopped for hubby's formal wear.. detox for a week.. work long hours and hard.. yeh.. having 2-3 hours concall every night since last tues.. tired but happy..

hubby will b away for US biz trip next wed for 1.5 weeks.. disappointed tat i cant join as he's gg to new york city *pout*.. so i wish for more biz trips and holidays in 2008.. great health and wealth.. cheers!

End of 2007..

Touched down around 9 pm plus and the heat is killing me.. the weather for past 10 days was so cold and dry.. the trip was smooth and safe.. minus bad experiences with some toilets and some ppl.. it was quite enjoyable and scenery was really magnificent.. clear and emerald lakes.. waterfalls.. mountains range.. icy white trees.. great tour guide and driver services.. great food (ma la hotpot and herbal steamboat were memorable).. lots of shopping.. foot reflexology.. skiing.. hot spring bath.. sauna.. steam bath.. mud bath.. local tribal village/home visit.. pandas.. bian lian show.. etc.. it's an amazing trip.. guess wat we bought.. pure honey from bees in mountains.. jade bracelet.. amethyst bracelet.. 2 eyed and 9 eyed dzi beads.. pi siu.. mushrooms (song rong).. pills from tong ren tang etc.. we skipped the tibetian medicine.. silk blankets and covers.. tong cong cao.. i must say chinese can sell very well *grin*.. again.. need time to sort out the fotos.. so stay tuned :)

Chengdu here i come..

a busy morning.. final check on my emails.. packed all into one luggage.. spent at least an hr to hunt for my dear's beanie.. lunch..

reached airport at 1:30pm and was "finding" ppl on the same tour.. hehe.. a pity tat we cant go to the lounge.. anyways.. 2 mins to logout.. so wish everyone a merry xmas and a wonderful and healthy 2008.. take care!

Last working day of 2007...

it's quite a lazy day at work but managed to sort out the key issues.. hopefully 2008 will be a better year..

my boss bought us lunch at ikea.. it's like a simple xmas lunch.. appreciate her little gestures.. get water and coffee for me.. i tot i shd be the one getting her water and coffee *blush*.. anyways.. i like to lunch with her.. we never talk abt work and there are always something to chit chat and luff abt.. she gave us each a xmas present.. i have been complaining abt my "retarded" mouse.. and she bought me a cute little optical mouse.. such an attentive boss.. she actually thanked me of being so supportive and so ready to go for biz trip.. i'm so happy and touched..

it's late.. gtg zzz.. have to wake up early to pack and get ready.. china here i come.. :))))))

Busy busy..

so many things to follow up after the workshop.. we din have time to cover everything and thus we have to work on it remotely.. 3 different timezones.. sg, emea and usa.. have been working long hours.. tiring but happy.. still feeling sleepy during the day.. maybe jetlag maybe lack of sleep.. same at the workshop.. always feeling sleepy.. oh ya.. my boss bought us lunch on tue to reward our hard work.. otori.. nice place and great food..

finally packed a bit today.. tour guide called and said it's -16 at jiuzhaigou.. wow.. i'm excited.. one more day at work and will be off till 2 jan.. yippie..

I'm back..

managed to get the flight back on sunday instead of monday.. so i'm back a day earlier..

it's quite a tiring but fruitful biz trip as i need to work on 2 timezones.. attending the workshop and following up with the team in sg (well oso to catch up with my dear in india).. met ppl from other teams and regions.. learnt a lot from the detailed sharing and discussions.. hopefully i get to attend the next workshop in vienna..

rented car on the weekends and driving was quite ok minus the missed turns and drive thru the eztag lane and tot tat i might be fined.. hehe.. took a while to rem tat the signal is on my left and wiper on my rite.. hotel is very near to office and it's a 2 bedroom suite.. went to katy mills factory outlet, willowbrook mall and galleria.. shopped quite a bit.. bought 3 shirts (1 from ck and 2 from kenneth cole) for my dear.. 1liz claiborne sling bag for mom.. 1 fleece and columbia jacket from rei.. 2 old navy shirts and 2 tops (forget wat brand).. but regretted not buying the ck down jacket which was 50% off.. polo tee for my dear.. had vietnamese, mexican, italian, japanese, steakhouse and cheesecake factory.. gosh.. now i feel so fat..

5 days to my china trip.. looking forward to a white xmas :)

i'm at airport waiting for boarding.. managed to get economy plus seats except for nrt-sfo leg.. guess have to depend on my luck at nrt and see if i can change.. slept for 3.5 hours and i'm actually quite awake.. so excited.. missing u dear dear.. hope to catch u online when i reach.. houston here i come :)

Biz trip 8-18 dec

there will be a workshop at houston with other regions from 10-14 dec.. my team needs to send a rep.. one cant go bcoz of family and the other has to stay for knowledge transfer.. so me "the green horn" has the chance to meet the rest of the global program team.. yeh still green as i'm only 1mth old here.. my boss worried that i will be the "spotlight" and ensure that i have enuff knowledge sharing from these 2 gurus.. all done in this week.. doc preparation and learning as much as possible.. it's kinda last min.. a short discussion on last fri that i will be the backup if no one can make it.. den my boss sms to get ready on sat morning.. booking all done on monday.. flights are full and unable to get flights back on next weekend.. so tentative return on 17 dec.. now i'm having night concalls and information overflow.. a couple of tasks to be completed before i fly and i have not packed and change currency.. oh gosh never feel so unprepared.. hope the workshop goes well and no hiccups.. no "bombs" from other regions.. still undecided if i shd drive.. kl colleague is coming in a day later and leaving on 15 dec.. staying in the same hotel but our flight schedule are not matched.. ah so mafan.. i'm tired.. better hit the bed and worry tomorrow.. sweet dreams jeri.. nitez..

watched the special edition of hero on TV last sun.. a promotion for the movie.. watched the whole 11 ep of hero series within these 2 days.. simply love kimura's cool and charm.. interesting storyline and cases..

Busy...

have been working late for past 2 weeks.. tired but happy.. my predecessor left on 20 nov and now i'm on my own.. manageable but tons of items to follow up.. still trying to get used to the constraints.. things are different from the past.. putting this aside.. teammates are helpful and nice.. learning new things every day.. looking forward to the challenging projects.. glad that i'm familiar to the env and kinda settle down.. also clean and deco my desk.. setup my laptop and necessary access.. engine is now up and running..

meanwhile my dear also busy at work.. new role new beginning.. going india for a summit from 9-14 dec.. taking all the necessary jabs.. hope he will be strong and healthy..

guess it will be work and more work.. counting down to xmas and china trip.. a month to go.. yippie *grin*

Crocs sassari..

My dear bought this for me.. all black.. very light and comfy.. but i found a bad scratch on the side after payment.. cant change as it's the last pair.. marina sq is a bit inconvenient for us to make a trip down.. so have to wait till next monday for new stock to come in.. me so eager to wear.. sob sob..

Before i forget.. my SIL bought mary jane 2 weeks back.. now the 3 of us have the same model and color.. POUT..

We saw a very "thick" rainbow having all 7 colors on our way home.. it stopped at the clouds.. looked like 1 or I.. our first time seeing 1 together.. so pretty..

is on every first friday of the month.. 330pm.. wow wow i like it..

so far i have been busy with getting accesses and some installations.. so glad to be back.. somewhere i'm familiar but yet different.. faces i have seen before but yet different working r/s.. trying to change my mindset.. i'm not representing IT anymore.. i'm from business.. hehehe so excited and i can't wait to start working..

is how long i worked here.. so qiao.. same for my last job.. i really wana stay long in a job.. really do.. but it's juz so tuff and depressing to press on.. new beginnings new hopes..

stayed up till 2am to "clean" up my laptop and woke up at 545am.. but i'm not sleepy.. strong feeling of excitement and happiness.. yet with a little sadness when i sent my farewell email.. i'm going to miss my users and some colleagues.. 27 months of "interesting" and "special" encounters.. hehe so glad that i'll be out today.. looking forward to the new and diff role *grin*

at chinatown.. 3 hrs.. sa tour, ctc, hong tai, focal, universal, etc.. all bcoz air tix are overpriced and the dates are really bad.. such a headache to decide where to for xmas.. too ex for those exotic and/or far countries.. esp we juz had our europe honeymoon in mar/apr.. nth really interesting for the nearby countries.. guess wat pop out from my dear's mouth.. CHINA!!.. aiyo this is the last place (after india) that i will think of visiting.. anyways he said it might be the next cheap place to ski after korea.. so we were checking out harbin.. but it kinda put my dear off when he saw aunties enquiring abt harbin.. the next option is jiuzhaigou.. hehe "chinese" rockies.. it has the least ppl sign up.. it will be cold and it's off-peak session.. all white and quiet (i hope).. the best is it meets my budget and my folks wont be following as they went last yr.. they will go harbin instead.. yippie xmas to ourselves.. now we have to read the itinerary in details and decide which tour to join..

Have been putting on weight and it's depressing to see my fats when i shop.. i'm 50kg now.. sad.. juz went for a short run and my muscles are aching now.. giving myself a month to shed some weight.. a slimmer waist and arms.. jiayou!!

i have decided after much considerations, weighing pros and cons, career goals and exposure.. the key to career progression is to have an appreciative and supportive boss.. no matter how bad is the env.. how heavy is the workload.. this person will make you happy.. i never have such a luck to meet one.. but i believe i have found one.. i'm willing to sacrifice a little and see how far i can go.. wish me luck eh..

Dilemma

why can't i have the best of both worlds.. why must i sacrifice.. sob sob..

Wonderful...

really feel very blessed with such a loving hubby.. one who will fetch me around regardless how far.. even take leave to accompany me.. one who will give me tips to deal with and/or manage ppl.. always stand by my side and take care of me.. and so on and so on..

i should shut one eye and ignore all the sickening and irritating ppl.. today my heart almost exploded and blood rushed right to my brain.. for a moment i tot i'm having heart attack.. goodness i have to control and calm myself down with deep breathings.. take it easy.. relax.. no big deal.. i have a great hubby and folks who love me so much.. it's not worth it to get angry with these ppl who dun deserve my respect.. let it go jeri.. let it go..

tom i will be out of office to attend a forum.. a good break to be away from ppl i dislike.. so sick of canteen food and ulu workplace.. looking forward to be in town and meeting crankygal for lunch.. yippie!

Jogging..

finally i managed to drag my dear to run on sat.. hehe but i only run for about 5-10 mins.. goodness lost all my stamina after nua-ing for so long (lost count).. yeh so bad tat i was feeling giddy and had to sit down and rest.. so long tat my dear had to turn back and look for me.. upset of not finishing.. i made my dear agree to run again on sun.. this time i run 2 rounds.. felt great to perspire and having my heart and muscles worked out.. now i'm having muscles ache.. but it's ok.. we have to start running and b fit again..

mil went back to crocs and change to size 7.. now we have same model, color and size.. guess wat.. coz my dear told her teva slippers are comfy.. she bought 1 too from WOS at 16.. oso same pattern and color as me.. *pout*

eat and sing at kbox.. 23++ per pax from 6 to 10pm.. food so-so.. but i think its a great idea as ppl can eat while waiting for the turn to sing.. had fun with my colleagues.. screaming and laughing at each other.. kekeke.. so it's a "4 dragons and a dog" concert.. luckily we din loose our voices today.. hehehe else our bosses probably wondering wat we did last evening :P *grin*

Crocs - mary jane..

My dear bought this for me and mil.. well the intention was to buy for her.. but i got bored waiting for her to decide on the models and colors.. so my dear asked me to try if it's comfy for me.. beach (the original model) doesn't fit my feet.. feel weird on my toes.. this marry jane so comfy and more gal-like.. actually it's too gal for me.. but my dear prefers this color than the tiffany.. guess wat.. mil still deciding when i have already decided.. lucky we have a patient sales gal.. so i looked for a deco to brighten up my mary jane.. bought a purple (left shoe) and red (right) flowers.. it's 4.20 each =P.. thank you dear.. not done yet.. my mom was grumbling abt buying such expensive "plastic" shoes.. i think she prob jealous.. kekeke.. so guess wat my mil decided on.. same model same color but different size *pout*

Spotless...

Mom has been pestering me to use green bean powder with facial cleanser to wash face.. rem i tried it few yrs back.. well it was pretty coarse and my face got worst.. so i have been trying to siam her.. but she is very firm and told me her fren's son's face is spotless after using this.. result in a week.. soooo i am swayed.. today is my 4th day trial.. 3 days to see result.. hopefully my face will b spotless soon.. kekeke.. so far it din get worst.. crossing my fingers *grin*..

Samsung SGH-L760.. pay 38 bucks for it when sign new contract and/or get new line.. swapped mom's M1 to singtel.. nice color but fatter than my current.. abt 6mm fatter.. smaller than my current.. this time i can listen to radio from my mobile.. my dear will inherit my current.. a yr to contract ends.. hehe the time to change mobile phone again.. yippie..

Training is...

great as there are snacks and gossips times.. demos and hands-on.. no stresses and very peaceful.. not so great as there are no emails and IMs.. gosh.. feel very handicapped.. luckily i still can blog.. keke..

Dear's bday..

well.. nth special.. except he had 3 bday cakes.. 1 with colleagues.. 1 with my folks.. 1 with his folks.. and i paid for 2.. keke mayb he had 1 yucky 1 alone last yr in US.. this time he had triple celebrations.. anyways we had abalone porridge for lunch.. as we had too much cakes.. dinner was late and bcoz we couldn't find parking in HV.. we ended up at clementi hawker with satay and western food sold out.. next day we had tim sum at teahouse for lunch.. yeh again.. but with his family this time.. we had soo much food that fill up the whole table.. hehe my dear was stuffed to max.. greedy boy.. anyways.. his sis's bday in 2 weeks.. mayb another meetup.. hopefully not.. crossing my fingers *grin*..

someone who came in on the same day as me has tendered.. he was just promoted on 1 July.. 2nd person since last mon.. this makes me very kpo about wat will happen next.. kinda mean to think tat it serves "them" right.. wana see how stressed "they" will get when we are having resource issues right now.. hehehehehe.. ppl who can survive and get out of this in a gorgeous state will win.. hiak hiak.. who will be the survivor..!??!

Career goals...

this has been bugging me for long and i simply refused to face it.. until yesterday i have no choice but to ponder on it.. my goal has been wanting to be taitai by 35.. the fact is i wana live very comfortably with great traveling and food.. anyways with touraco's advice.. i managed to sort this out.. mixed feelings and i hope the goals aren't too far..

Buffet lunch..

this is the day where my dear has to 替岳母做生日.. mom said this is a teochew custom.. but i never heard of frens doing it except my cousin.... yeh just ONE cousin.. so we catered buffet lunch from 富贵 at my place for relatives and her close frens (including mk.. guess mom really likes her after tat volcano trip).. mom prepared mee siam soup since we ordered dry mee siam.. bought 2 roasted ducks and prepared fruit punch and cocktail desserts.. food not too bad but not finished.. so we had it for dinner again.. dread it.. well.. it's great to meet up my aunts and cousins again.. the last was at my wedding.. think mom is the happiest.. collecting angbaos and playing host.. watching dvds with her frens and drinking wine.. pity the 2 of us.. tired after a day of entertaining and disturbed by the series of "noise" from the dvds.. so glad it's over and i wish for peacefulness for months and years..

Team building..

is at Tanjong Puteri Golf Resort (JB) this weekend.. but i had to give it a miss as we (me n hubby) have to stay in sg to celebrate my mom's bday.. somehow.. my team.. oni my boss and a colleague can make it.. 4 of us can't go.. dunno y.. i smell troubles coming and this is quite disturbing.. oh pls.. pls keep me out of it.. i am innocent..

Attended a trekker fren's wedding.. proposal on 05/05/05.. rom on 06/06/06.. wedding on 07/07/07.. i must salute to this couple who really make effort to plan all these.. they are featured on 6 July's The Straits Times.. check it out.. wonder if they are planning a kid on 08/08/08.. hehe i wont be surprised thou.. guess wat.. my ex-gm was at the same wedding.. some MPs too.. a very simplified wedding with 50 plus tables.. only 1 march-in and yum-seng..

iain @ 10 months

Missed iain so badly tat i asked ah lian out.. hehe since iain born.. ah lian is no longer the star =P.. so lucky for me.. her hubby is on reservist and crankygal's on biz trip.. so 3 of us met up at vivo city for dinner.. he grew up quite a bit after 2 months.. had a wonderful dinner at thai accent and coffee at pacific coffee company.. a lot of fun with bb iain too.. his lovely smile juz melt my heart.. looking forward to his bday in sep.. ah lian.. make sure u throw a bday bash and rem to invite me *grin*..

GST hike cutover..

was great minus 3 little surprises.. lucky colleague helping me remotely.. supposed to end at 1am.. but delayed to 2plus.. home at 3am.. hehe cant really sleep as it's way past my usual bedtime.. and i had tuff time trying to wake up =P..

i'm working later at midnight to verify the GST 7% cut-over is successful and proper.. it's my first time working on GST hike.. it's definitely a lot of meetings, planning and checking to ensure GST billing is accurate.. systems configuration.. processes.. invoice printing.. etc etc.. hopefully no surprises later..

Saturday

Tim sum lunch at teahouse with my folks.. kana parking offence.. 6 bucks.. missed her about 20 mins.. dropped by to see the "ke jia" karaoke competition that mom takes part.. too crowded and "noisy".. so went off after 10 mins.. walked around china square for a while and went shopping at vivo city for 2 hours.. din managed to get even ONE nice top for work.. think current fashion just dun suit me.. went liang court to meet mk, mal, sw and serene for dinner at tampopo.. discussed about upcoming trips.. mulu or kinabalu.. the tot of being dirty just put me off.. hehe ppl who know me well know tat i cannot stand mud and leeches.. mulu mulu shd i go.. den we went to central for coffee at coffee club.. chit chat until it closed shop..

Sunday

Went to darius's bb shower.. din dare to carry him as he "look" too fragile.. finally see bb ryan.. 3 mths plus and so chubby.. carried and played with him.. very huge eyes and lovely smiles.. no fret no cry.. frenly bb.. just like bb iain.. ahh i miss bb iain.. wonder how is he and wat r his new tricks.. met up david, weiping, hsumae and winston.. hehe everyone looks the same.. den we left for IMM for haircut.. having too much hair loss for weeks..so i decided to cut my hair short.. slightly over my shoulder and fringe around my eyebrows.. my dear keep teasing me as ah gong.. arghh.. i think it's ok.. went home for dinner with in-laws and back home in time for initial d..

Hotdog for dinner

Missed the hotdog we had in paris near notre dame.. so bought baguette by delifrance, 4 hotdogs and mozzarella cheese.. tried to bake 1.. eehhh not too far from it but definitely not as yummie.. 1 was too much for me.. plus greedy me put lots of cheese and it was quite salty *grin*..

Aircon overhaul

Dunno if the weather too hot or the aircons broke down (mine and my folk's).. it's not cold anymore.. not even cooling.. it din even help with a fan.. still rem they are working fine before my wedding.. the heat has been killing me since we are back from honeymoon.. no choice but to hunt around.. gain city.. courts.. shop in toa payoh.. even consult crankygal on hers.. so after comparing the brands and packages.. we signed up with best tech.. toshiba inverter system 2.. actually there are a lot of details and things to watch out about aircon and installation.. the class of the insulator.. piping etc.. anyways.. too technical for me to understand how the whole thing works and to explain here.. but to save costs.. we decided on inverter over the compressor.. today is the day of installation.. it's so quiet and cold.. as compared to my window unit .. was so noisy before and i'm not used to the peacefulness.. hehe..

Hubby is sick and on 2 days mc.. tummy flu.. fever and cough.. i'm tired.. worked on issues on most sun and started work at 730am today for post implementation support.. having pms as well.. headache for 2 days liao.. wana sleep but can't sleep well.. aaaahhhhhhhhh..

Career dilemma

finally i have updated my resume with my current experience.. it's kinda tuff to put it into words to sell myself.. this triggered me to ponder on what kind of job i wana pursue next.. do i wana be a manager.. middle mgt is quite sucky to be in.. in between the higher mgt and the ppl who do real work.. do i wana find a 9-5 easy-life job.. in case i wana be "promoted" last min so that i have more free time and less affected by work.. but i will get bored easily.. this current job is a very challenging job and yet i'm already bored in my 2nd yr.. do i wana try something non-IT.. hmmm hmmm maybe i should be open about it.. but will i get employed since i dun have any experience.. maybe i should stay at where i am now since i have "hopped" so many times.. near 9 yrs and this is my 5th job.. but can i close one eye and dun bother about what happens at work.. should i start my own business.. can i accept failure.. can i take it when my money has gone to the drain.. i have to start thinking hard.. i really hope that hubby will be relocated to US soon so that i can have a short term taitai-hood.. but this is definitely not in the near future.. wat should i do.. wat do i want.. wat's wrong with me.. is this mid-life crisis.. or it's just that i'm not contented enuff..

Cards and papers..

i'm amazed by the number of credit cards i had and have now.. citibank, uob, dbs, ocbc, hsbc, stand chart and amex.. lazy to count those i have cancelled.. now i have 2 from citibank.. 5 from uob.. 5 from dbs.. 1 from amex.. it took me whole day to sort the bills out and pack them nicely according to banks.. next was my insurance, cpf and savings.. another big stack of account statements.. i must go paperless soon else no more space to keep all these.. guess wat i dug out next.. cheque books.. total of 13 books.. OMG.. i din even rem i had soooo many of them.. so i went online to check.. i actually have 4 credit lines.. goodness.. these are the results from all the phone sales by the banks.. it's so easy for them to outsource and get the agents to call the customers.. and application of cards is effortless.. all you need to do is to sign and fax back.. hehe.. guess i'm a great customer.. so long its free i wont reject..

Dinner @ Akashi

Early celebration of mother's day.. brought mom to akashi at tanglin shopping centre.. coz i craved for jap food.. not any other jap restaurant as i'm worried mom's taste bud has yet to recover from hokkaido trip.. hehe.. it takes time to adjust back once you had jap food in japan.. somehow the jap food here will taste yucky.. i must say the standard is pretty good here.. we had ebi miso, asari chilli clams, chawanmushi, california reverse maki, assorted sashimi and niku inaniwa udon.. all yummie except the clams.. maybe it tasted like normal zhicha food.. so not tat impressive.. anyways.. mom simply love the food here.. it's my dear's favourite place too.. go try it.. ichiban..

I was glued..

to my dear's machine for a wk.. hehe.. watching jdramas continuously.. took breaks for jogging and bathing.. ate dinner and watched at the same time.. stopped when dead tired.. this is me when my dear not around.. so i finished watching 6 ep of kekkon dekinai otoko (the man who cant get married) and 11 ep of hana yori dango 2 (boys before flowers).. lucky no space and no more nice drama.. else i will glued and will not blog.. this reminds me when i was "chasing" after da chang ji.. hehe.. tat time i always slept at 2 or 3 am.. juz couldnt stop when the scene gets 紧张..

Hanging out..

at touraco's place, the esparis.. supposed to have picnic but ah lian has to meet in-laws for dinner.. so we brought forward and had lunch instead.. her home is really spic-and-span.. a good idea to engage part-time "maid" to clean the house weekly.. ah lian and family were late.. lucky our host had our lunch ready.. else we prob starved while waiting for kfc to be delivered.. bb iain so adorable.. he has such a charming smile.. he can sit and crawl now.. jump very well too.. love to look at himself in the mirror.. he sleep without pacifier and doze off easily.. such an obedient boy.. simply love to carry and play with him.. managed to see touraco's wedding fotos.. eh i must say.. a lot of albums.. 2 for fotoshot.. 1 for rom.. 2 for actual day.. coincidentally ah lian brought her wedding video (dvd) and fotos (cd) for me.. so me, touraco and her hubby watched the video together.. these weddings were 2 yrs back.. time really really flies.. from our uni days to graduation.. from working to getting married.. from ah lian's pregnancy to now bb iain is exactly 8 mths old.. 时间你可以放慢你的脚步吗..

My dear left for US..

on biz trip for 2 weeks.. 6 to 19 may.. wanted to follow but too last min for me to apply leave.. wanted to meet in tokyo on 18 may.. but i find 5 days too short for me.. hehe i know.. i'm back from honeymoon for less than a mth.. but i'm dying to go for another long holis.. maybe it's time to move on..

A day out @ the zoo

Have been wanting to go singapore zoo with my dear as we have visited zoo in seattle and san diego but not here.. booked the corporate pass for free admissions.. invited mk, her sis and niece along since it allows 4 adults admission.. the weather was great.. sunny in the morning and cloudy in the afternoon.. we were there from 10:30am to 4pm..

Took our time slow.. observed the animals in details.. behaviour and body.. these animals are so pitiful to be closed in such small area.. different from their original habitat.. stay in a hot and humid weather.. penguin, manatee and sea lion section is closed for renovation.. wonders of the wild show was disappointing.. but i had fun.. playing with mk's niece.. discussing weird questions about the animals when we observed them.. observing animals during their feeding time..

I will try to book wild wild wet pass for jun.. next outing to look forward *grin*.. hehe think my dear will not be keen..
